BAR GAMES

Bar Game Rules
Each week after the kickball game the losing team gets to choose a game to challenge the winning team to at the bar.  The teams at the bar get credited for a win or a loss (a loss still gets a participation point).  If you don’t participate you lose a point.   You cannot reschedule your challenge to the following week.

Game choices:
1.  Flip cup (best 2 out of 3, as many people that want to play as long as the #s are even – captains can elect to have people go twice in order to allow for more participants)
2.  Beer Pong (winner of one game - each team chooses their two players)
3.  Civil War (as many people that want to play as long as the #s are even)
4.  21 (as many people that want to play as long as the #s are even – 4 players is standard and recommended)
5.  Relay (winner of one game, each team chooses their 3 players)
6.  Any other game that both team’s captains agree to

Don't know how to play?  Check out these instructions!

HOW TO PLAY FLIP CUP
It is a team based drinking relay race. Two teams line up opposite of each other at a table. First person chugs the beer out of their cup. The next person can't go until the person before them has consumed all their beer and set their cup on the edge of the table and successfully "flipped it" until it has landed upside-down. The team that finishes first wins!

HOW TO PLAY FLIP CUP SURVIVOR

Survivor is played the same as flip cup except each person is flipping for themselves. Everyone starts at the same time. Each person drinks their beer and then flips their cup. Once they have done so they raise their arms above their head. The last person to flip their cup is out. This play continues until there is one person left - the survivor. Survivor is also known as King of The Hill.

HOW TO PLAY BEER PONG
10 cups are partially filled with beer and set up in a triangle shape on each end of the beer pong table. Each team then takes turns attempting to shoot balls into the opponent's cups. If a ball lands in a cup, then the contents of that cup are consumed by the other team and the cup is placed aside. If both players from one team each make a cup, they get the balls back.  Each team is allotted 2 re-racks per game.  The first side to eliminate all of the opponent's cups is the winner. Variations must be agreed upon by both teams prior to the game.

HOW TO PLAY 21
Each team must be comprised of an equal number of players (4 players is standard). Games are single game matches unless otherwise agreed upon by each team prior to the start. Each team is to set up 21 cups arranged in a perfect triangle at their respective sides and filled with as much beer as the players like. Each team will start the game with 2 balls each. 4 ping pong balls will be in use in the game with each player sharing a ball with their “Matched” player from the opposing team. The losing team from the field will determine the match ups. Each team will take turns throwing the ping pong balls but can only throw the ball again after their “Matched” player has thrown the ball. There are no stealing turns/balls. A ping pong ball may not be thrown until the player holding the ball is done drinking his/her beer. A player has 2 minutes to throw their ball. If they have not thrown it in 2 minutes, they must surrender their ball to their matched player. If a cup is knocked off the table, then that cup is no longer in play and is counted as a “made cup” for the other team. Re-racks can only happen at Perfect Triangles: 21 cups, 15 Cups, 10 Cups, 6 Cups, 3 Cups. Should a team call a re-rack at the wrong time (not a perfect triangle) then the other team can rack the cups in any formation that they like. The cups must stay within their ¼ of the table. No balls will be thrown during a re-rack. If a ball is in the air when a re-rack is called, then the ball is in play. Any ball thrown during a re-rack will not count and the ball will be given back to the person that threw it. Elbow rules will apply. The elbow of the person throwing the ball must not cross the edge of the table. Should a player repeatedly break the Elbow Rule then the ball thrown when the rule is broken will not count. Bouncing is allowed but will only count for 1 cup. A player can swat or catch a ball once it bounces once – whether off the table or off of a cup. If a ball has been thrown and is touched by anyone from the opposing while in the air, interference will be called and the ball will be given back to the person that threw it. If a ball is deflected in midair or hits any body part of anyone from the opposing team and goes into a cup, then the cup will considered “made”. There are no rebuttals in a game of 21. The game is won when a team has successfully “made” all the cups.

HOW TO PLAY RELAY
Players: 3 per team
Materials: 12 cups, two pong balls, table
Set up: Each team takes one long side of the table. Set up 6 cups (3-2-1) on the end (corner) in a triangle format. Each team needs one pong ball.
Play:  The game is a relay race and plays as so
1. The first player stands at the opposite end from the cups.  They attempt to shoot the ball into a cup until they do so.
2. Once player 1 makes a cup, player 2 (standing behind the cups) picks up the cup takes it to the other end of the table, removes the ball from the cup and must bounce it into the cup (similar to quarters).  Once they have successfully completed this, they then must drink the contents and flip the cup.  Player 2 then becomes the shooter and player 3 moves to the end of the table behind the cups.
3. Shooting players may playfully (not violently!) shove the opposing teams shooter, but only if they also possess the ball
4. The game is won when a team has successfully “made” all of their cups

HOW TO PLAY CIVIL WAR
Have 2 teams of at least 3 players each at a beer pong table, preferably a wide one. Each player has 4 beer-pong cups in front of them in a diamond.  Use one beer in the three cups or more if preferred.  Each team starts with equal number of balls.  If you can get one ball per person, that is preferable. Once you begin you throw the balls at the opposing team's cups (it can be at any player’s cups, not just a player opposite you).  Fire at will when you can get your hand on a ball, there are no “turns.”  If a ball is made into one of your cups, drink its contents.  You cannot throw again until you have finished drinking what was in your cup.  Once all of the cups in front of you have been made, you are out.  You can no longer shoot.  However, you CAN retrieve balls for your team.  Each team must move or remove the cups that have been made so the other team knows what they are shooting at.  If balls are hit in the air accidentally, that is okay.  It is part of the game.  If it is intentional, the ball goes back to the team that threw it.  If a cup is knocked over accidentally, it counts as if it was made.  The team with a player remaining at the end wins.  Variations must be agreed upon by both teams prior to play.
