Here are some tips that can help keep us all safe:
1. Do not walk alone. Even if you are a large dude, you may still be a target. Try to walk to your car, the bar, home, etc in groups of 2-4.
2. Use the buddy system. Find a friend or a teammate and keep track of each other throughout the evening. Let each other know when you've made it home safely.
3. Park in a safe area. While it is a separately operated company, Happy Ending does have valet that is usually around $5. That's a cheap price to pay for your safety. Some of the streets around the bar can be very dark. If you are going to park there, please see tip #1.
4. Consider taking an uber or lyft home instead of walking. You may live close, but a $5 uber ride is also a cheap price to pay to ensure you make it home safely.
5. Most importantly - BE AWARE. Many of us often head home after a long day of drinking that can impair our senses. Try to be aware of your surroundings. Know where you are headed, walk in well-lit areas and if you feel unsafe ask for help.
