PITCHES BE CRAZY

Game #4
By: Kyle Bellinger

There's a first time for everything. Pitches Be Crazy (1st place in drinking/social, btw) notched their 1st win of the season (and for many on the team, it was their 1st kickball win, ever) by defeating The Pink Bambino 4-1. Defense wins championships, and that proved to be the takeaway from Sunday night's game, with the Pitches catching nearly every ball kicked their way. The scoring didn't stop after Pitches pulverized the hopes and dreams of Pink Bambino's revenge by shutting them out in good ol' flip cup. Pitches also placed 2nd in the classic Das Boot. Next week the Pitches have a (revenge) rematch with Ball of Duty.

Pitches Be Crazy took the Poinsettia Rec. Center by storm this week, ready to represent on the scoreboard. Yes, Ball of Duty may have beat us, but we did get 2 points, for a final score of 12–2. Getting some of the Pitches Be Crazy teammates across the home plate was all that really mattered for us–especially as we were playing against seasoned vets. Plus we made friends by sharing our drinks so we'd like to think we win in being sharers and fans of all teams.

Thanks to Ball of Duty, they have given us the inspiration to rock out with future Pitches Be Crazy swag, so we'll be reppin' the purple in tons of extra ways.

We finished the game by slapping the bag before heading over to Happy Endings, where we bonded with our newly formed "rivals." They beat us once again–this time in Flip Cup, but rumor has it that Pitches Be Crazy dominated all other teams by winning the ice tray challenge. So we're pretty pumped about that (go Mario!).

That's it for now. Stay tuned for some serious swag, morale, and on-the-field comebacks from Pitches Be Crazy.

Game #1

It was a hard fought battle between the Celebrity Leagues premier teams: Pitches Be Crazy and Dumbledore's Army. Although Dumbledore's Army narrowly pulled out the win over Pitches Be Crazy (something in the ballpark of 6 or 7 to 0, but who's keeping count?), it's apparent that the rag-tag Pitches Be Crazy are bound for glory. In fact, I will take this moment to tell a story... An underdog story... The Pitches came together as stragglers- free agents, small friend groups- folks without true direction in the sport of premier, social, kick-ball. Many of us just moved here from out of state too! We were out of friends, out of town, out of luck... until we all met. Like any good underdog story we start at the bottom, dispersed and disorganized, but then we come together, and we accelerate past the top as a tightly knit unit.

With that being said, watch out, fellow ballers, Pitches Be Crazy aren't to be trifled with and we're all gunning for the gold.

But what about an epilogue, Cameron? I'm glad you asked: The revenge flip cup victory over Dumbledore's Army was especially euphoric. They may have won the kickball battle, but we won the drinking war.

Cheers to all, and to all, a good drink.
